Childhood Indoctrination

Obviously parents have a tremendous impact on their children.  We cannot escape that.  What I want people to consider, is perhaps exposing their children to ideas, concepts, and options that they may not even like.  Of course, parents want to share their favorite things with their children.  But how about at least reminding their children that there are other options.  Yes, we are influenced by everyone that comes and goes in our lives.  But we are own person.  Using decision making along with a positive view of mistakes and failure would be an ideal mix.  What made me think of this?  Well I came across an old cassette recording on my young voice.  I am probably around 3 years old.  An interesting observation:  I am singing what I know - christian songs.  Apparently that is all I knew.  All I am saying is that there is more than one side to an opinion.  Since we live in a world with other people, it is beneficial for parents to teach their children about multiple points of view especially in regard to religion, culture, language, and even daily practices.  Just a thought.
